 IDEAS THAT WILL MAKE YOU
RICH!
Today, we meet people who hit the jackpot
with a simple idea that they turned into a big time invention!
We hear their stories of success and see the product that, in
some cases, made these inventors millions of dollars! We also
meet people who have a big dream and an even bigger idea…and
are hoping to strike it rich with their new concept. First we
meet Tomima Edmark, inventor of the TopsyTail, a
hair styling product. Since it’s introduction in 1990, the
TopsyTail has grossed over $100 million in sales, Tomima has
launched her own company, and several other styling products
have followed. She shares her success story in the studio and
demonstrates her product. Next meet Robert Doornik, CEO
of International Robotics, Inc. and inventor of
Millennia, a six-foot tall robot. We meet this
incredible robot in the studio as Robert demonstrates how his
amazing creation can talk, walk, dance, and perform simple
tasks. Up next is Lorraine Santoli, inventor of
TissueKups. Will Lorraine’s big idea solve a
frustrating problem when you’re behind the wheel? Next we meet
Barbara Bigford, whose bright idea for her unique
product came about after several frustrating days at the
beach, watching umbrellas fly away in the wind. Her invention
is called Beach Pockets, and her idea is so simple
it’ll have you saying, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Then we
meet Joshua Braunfeld, who has an idea that he hopes
will hit the jackpot. His product is called the Pint
Pal, and Joshua hopes that his idea will make ice cream
lovers happy! Up next, Brothella Quick’s invention has
certainly made some heads turn! She created a product that she
claims can curb the rise of teen pregnancy called
PUG-C, which stands for Pocketed
UnderGarment for Condoms. You just have
to just see it to believe it. Djoser, Brothella’s son,
joins his mom in the studio to talk about her unusual clothing
invention. Next, Trese & Debra Vackar demonstrate
their invention; it’s a pair of hair products that they feel
will revolutionize the world of hair cutting. It’s called
Perfect Bangs and Perfect Sideburns and you have
to see it in action to believe it! Finally, we talk with
Ted VanCleave, author of Totally Absurd Inventions:
America’s Goofiest Patents. Ted introduces and
demonstrates some of the bizarre - yet very real - patents he
came across while doing research for one of his own ideas.
The Rain Dome, Gourd Head, and Hospital
Happiness to name a few…get ready to laugh out loud when
you see these inventions! Plus, Jim Cantore,
meteorologist for The Weather Channel, shares important
information on what to do in the event of a flood on this
week’s Keeping Families Safe segment.
